1. Name major nutrients in the food. 

Answer: The major nutrients in our food are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.

2. Name the following:

(a) The nutrients which mainly give energy to our body.

Answer: Not Fats and carbohydrates are the nutrients which mainly give energy to our body. Hence they are called as energy giving nutrients.  

(b) The nutrients that are needed for the growth and maintenance of our body.

Answer: Proteins are the nutrients that are needed for the growth and maintenance of our body. Hence they are called body building nutrients.

(c) A vitamin required for maintaining good eyesight.

Answer: Vitamin A is required for maintaining good eye sight.

(d) A mineral that is required for keeping our bones healthy.

Answer: Calcium is the mineral which is required for keeping our bones healthy.

3. Name two food rich in,

(a) Fats: Ghee, Butter

(b) Starch: Potato, Wheat

(c) Dietary fiber: Whole grains, Pulses

(d) Protein: Meat, Fish

4. Tick the statements that are correct and cross the wrong ones.
