    In figure X two opposite corners of a square sheet of paper are folded.

    In figure Y, other two opposite corner of the sheet are folded. Again in figure Z, two circles are punched on the two corners folded initially.

    These circles will double in each corner as the paper is unfolded. Thus, when the paper is unfolded four circles will appear symmetrically.
