    In figure X, the rectangular sheet of paper has been folded along the vertical line of the symmetry so that the left half of the sheet overlaps with the right half.

    In figure Y, the two corners of the folded sheet are folded further. Again in figure Z, two circles are punched at the centre.

    These circles will be reflected in each folded part of the paper. Thus, when the paper is unfolded eight circle shapes will appear symmetrically.
