What was the real Constitutional status of Indian Republic on 26th January, 1950 when the Constitution was enforced
Explanation
As originally enacted the Preamble described state as a "Sovereign, Democratic Republic". In 1976 the 42nd Amendment changed this to read "Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic" and the words "Unity of the Nation" were changed to "Unity and Integrity of the Nation".
