The average of four consecutive odd numbers is 36. What is the smallest of these numbers?

    Let the first odd number be 'x'

    Second odd number is x+2

    Third odd number is x-2

    Fourth Odd number is x+4

    Now, x+x+2+x-2+x+4=4×36

    or 4x+4=4×36

    ⇒ x+1=36

    ⇒ x=35

    ∴ smallet odd number  is (x-2)=0

    ⇒ (35-2)=33.

    Hence, Option E is correct.
