Practice Test Discussion

Q)

The product of three consecutive even numbers is 4032. The product of the first and the third number is 252. What is five times the second number?

  • Explanation

    Let the even consecutive numbers are 2n – 2, 2n, 2n + 2

    ⇒ (2n – 2)×(2n)×(2n + 2) = 4032   ---Eq(1)

The Product of 1st even number 3rd even number = 252

    Substitute this in equation ---Eq(1)

    ⇒ 252×2n = 4032 ⇒ n = 8

    ∴ Numbers are 14, 16, 18

∴ Five times of second number is = 5×16=80

    Hence, Option A is correct.
