Practice Test Discussion

Q)

If a person covers three equal distances at a speed of 30 km/hr, 15 km/hr and 10 km/hr, respectively, then find out his average speed during the whole journey?

  • Explanation

    According to the question,

    A=30 km/h, B=15 km/h, C=10 km/h

    we know the formula,

    Average speed= 3ABCAB+BC+CD

    ∴ Required average speed

    = 3×30×15×1030×15+15×10+10×30=13500900

     = 15 km/h

    Hence, Option C is correct.
