Eight consecutive numbers are given. If the average of the two numbers that appear in the middle is 6, then the sum of the eight given numbers is?


  • Explanation

    Let the eight sequentially number are = x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+4+x+5+x+6+x+7

    = 8x+28

    According to the question

    =x+3+x+42=6=2x+72=6

    = 2x+7=12

    = 2x =5

    x=52

    Sum of all eight numbers= 8x+28

         = 852+28

         = 20+28= 48

    Hence, Option B is correct.
