Dr. JitendraNagpal to head HRD Ministry constituted committee for JNV students to investigate suicide incidents

  • Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has constituted a committee to investigate the events of suicides of students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) on December 31, 2018.

  • Earlier, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) sent a notice to the HRD Ministry regarding the matter.

  • Since the formation of this committee Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya schools, so many students have committed suicide so far.

  • The committee has to give its report to the government in a month.

  • The committee will look into those circumstances which forced the students living in hostels of Navodaya residential schools to commit suicide.

  • The committee will also suggest ways and means to stop suicide.
